String of 100+ degree days ends at DFW, but not at WXnation’s FW station
The number of consecutive days at or above 100 degrees at Dallas/Fort Worth’s official reporting station ended at 40 — just two days shy of tying the record set in 1980 — after a storm gust front moved into the area causing the temperature to only reach 97. Many weather stations in North Texas briefly hit 100 before the front moved in, including our weather station in North Fort Worth. At WXnation’s weather station, the consecutive days over 100 degrees now stands at 46 and might continue beyond 50. That’s 100 degrees or higher every day since June 27, and Thursday was the 62nd day to top the century mark so far this year. Weather Underground archives our daily temps. The temperature also hit 100 Thursday at nearby Fort Worth, Naval Air Station.
