NWS Bill Controversy, Part ???: From this Daytona Beach News article by Mark Lane:

“The weather service’s site received 9 billion hits last year. A government Web site record.

Wow. A government agency performing a useful service valued by a huge number of people. And giving the folks easy access to data that was collected using their own tax dollars.

Obviously, this sort of mischief needs to be shut down and right away.

Obviously, that is, if you’re a very, very, very, very conservative senator who happens to represent the state that is headquarters to AccuWeather.”

Ed Oswald of WeatherBlog canceled his subscription to AccuWeather over this. I don’t have subscriptions for any of the weather providers. I’m cheap :^)

Traffic On The 8s: The Weather Channel will add local traffic content to its “Local on the 8s” in five major markets May 3. (Subscription required to read article)

Space & Sky: Planet outside solar system observed: New images taken of an object five times the mass of Jupiter confirm that it is a giant planet…

Report urges increased volcano monitoring: Did I post this one already?

These pictures were taken 20 seconds apart. Posted at SpaceWeather.com
