Not Just Another Day: Kate Bush CD Arrives: The last time I bought a new Kate Bush album was the last time one was released — on Nov. 2, 1993. Today in the UK, and tomorrow in the US, the wildly anticipated double-album “Aerial” arrives from an artist who has greatly influenced everyone from Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan to Big Boi of Outkast and punk rocker John Lydon (Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols). The album is receiving some incredible reviews on both sides of the pond, from Billboard.com; Rolling Stone (4 stars); The Times Online (5 stars); Newsday.com (Grade A-); and my favorite music site, AllMusic.com (4 stars). I suppose this is hardly the type of blog they are speaking of in this Reuters article on promoting Kate: “To reach younger fans, Columbia is actively promoting the $21.98 double album … targeting online blogs.” I do highly recommend this CD, even though I have only heard the first single — the No. 4 UK hit “King of the Mountain” [video available at KateBush.com] — and short snippets of some of the 16 tracks via excellent audio streaming from BBC radio. I normally wouldn’t take up so much space for a musical artist here, but Kate’s “Hounds of Love” has been my favorite album since I bought it 20 years ago at the age of 12, and she influenced me in my years as a songwriter. “Hounds of Love” was listed here earlier this year as my favorite meteorological album. OK, I’ll shut up about this — for now…

By the way, the “Category 7” review is coming soon, I promise! Until then, here’s something: Could there ever be a ‘Category 7’ storm?
