June 10, 2005

Arlene swirls closer to N. Gulf Coast, could dump 7 inches of rain in parts of Florida; New location for auto-updating feed of tropical storm/hurricane data; NBC Weather Plus now streaming online in 10 TV markets; Storms cause damage in SE Michigan, NE Ohio; Tornado warning issued north of Toronto Thursday; Report: Bill would require NWS to distribute weather info without delay

Arlene Swirls Closer To Northern Gulf Coast: Tropical Storm Arlene enters Gulf of Mexico: The storm could dump more than 7 inches of rain in South and Central Florida … Resources: Regional radar | National Weather Service watches/warnings map | Live Weather Plus video stream from WTVJ-TV 6, Miami | Latest stories on Google News wire

New Location For Auto-Updating Feed Of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Data: I probably don’t need to mention the new location of the data feed from the Tropical Prediction Center (it’s hard to miss). I hope the red is not too overwhelming, but it is one of the main colors of the hurricane warning flag. Black text would provide the other color, but then it’s almost impossible to read…

On MSNBC: Watch for me on MSNBC’s Connected Coast To Coast this afternoon (5 p.m. ET). I’ll be discussing Arlene and blogging weather events… For MSNBC viewers coming here for the first time, welcome! This blog is an extension of the main WXnation site, which features live weather and webcam images and more for more than 100 cities.

NBC Weather Plus 24/7 Streaming A/V Now On Web Sites In 10 TV Markets: I’ve included them in the appropriate WXnation city pages (under the “Weather Radar” and “Current Conditions” sections), and have placed them all together in the “Live Streaming Radars” section of the SuperSites page. They are as follows (look for Weather Plus icons): Chicago | Cleveland | Dallas | Denver | Miami | Orlando | Philadelphia | Raleigh | Sacramento | San Francisco

Weather News: Storms cause damage in SE Michigan, NE Ohio

Tornado warning issued north of Toronto Thursday

Report: If passed, a bill now before Congress would require the National Weather Service to distribute government generated weather information “in real-time, and without delay” Story

  1. Nice job on MSNBC, and good press for your site. Keep up the good work.

  2. Thanks, Jason! Ditto (Great job on the NatCast RSS feed! If only there were a NorthTexasWeather.com and a RangersCast feed!)
