WXnation Webcam aims at hills in north Fort Worth for the first time in this picture snapped on June 29, 2003. The cam in its new location goes live July 1.

Exactly 30 weeks after its launch on Nov. 27, 2002, the Arlington, TX webcam goes offline after uploading images at least once a minute 24/7 (minus a few hiccups here and there). It was the first live webcam online in Arlington (as far as we know). It was moved to WXnation's new home in north Fort Worth.

The webcam finally captures a lightning strike, perfectly centered and timed, since the cam only captures once every 30 seconds. The bolt appears to go around the top of a tower less than a mile away, and then hit the ground at the base of the tower.

Bird appears on the cam. Looks like a near miss with the window. Watch out!
